The English Boys' U16 Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship for the McGregor Trophy supported by FootJoy, presented by Mr and Mrs M. McGregor was being staged a Prince's Golf Club in Sandwich, Kent.

The Championship is open to Boy Amateur Golfers of all Nationalities.

The Championship format is 72 Hole Stroke Play over 3 days, with the leading 40 competitors and those tying for 40th place after 36 holes, playing a further 36 holes on the third day.
